Betty's Neck (Lakeville, MA)

I went for a gravel excursion on my Poprad yesterday and came across another hidden gem in the Assawompsett Pond Complex: Betty's Neck in Lakeville, MA. The best address to use for getting to the parking area is 59 Long Point Road, Lakeville, MA.

After taking a right onto Long Point Road (which goes between the two lakes) I saw a vast bog next to Island Terrace. As I was riding around the perimeter of the bog, I noticed a large rock labeled "Betty's Neck" with an arrow pointing up a dirt road. When I rode down the path, it came out to a small parking lot. Beyond the parking lot were two large grass fields. Along the perimeter of these fields, were various trails leading to the lake. These paths formed a nice network of trails between the fields and the lake. While many of the trails were difficult to negotiate on a cross bike, they weren't impossible. Overall, great place to explore, especially since it's off the beaten path. I would even consider mountain biking through here and then continuing the ride across the street in the APC.

Hi Jay, I was going to do some riding around the trails in Lakeville and found your blog. Nice documentation! Do you know if the trail network connects to Betty's Neck Rd.? Any info is appreciated! Thanks, Brian

Hi BMC,

Sorry I didn't see your comment sooner! I don't believe the trails connect to Betty's Neck Road, although I'm sure that some of the land owners have access through their property. Good luck!
