I'm often hesitant to drive far to other trails for mountain biking. I feel like there's something fundamentally ironic in using a ton of steel and a gallon of gasoline to transport a bike into a forest so I can enjoy the peace, quiet, and solitude of nature. So for these reasons, I decided to embark on an epic off-road ride around my homestead in Middleboro yesterday.

That last one was taken after I crashed into a branch that sent me flying over the handlebars!
Overall, I rode 30 miles with about 1/3 off-road. Of course, I didn't have a GPS to map this all out, but it just goes to show you that you don't need to travel far in order to find interesting places to ride.
