North Hill Marsh (Duxbury, MA)

What beautiful weather! I had a great time today in Duxbury at North Hill Marsh. I rode about 11 miles in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Although I took frequent rests, the pace was steady--especially after the first few miles. Despite the consistent running I've been doing over the past four weeks, not biking has really taken its toll. I was shocked to find myself panting and gasping while climbing relatively small hills. Here are a few pictures of the trails from today's ride.

I can't emphasize enough how great the trails are here. There weren't many people on the trails which was a surprise considering how nice the weather was. Also, the few trees that Hurricane Irene felled were already cut and removed from the trail. It's truly a wonderful place for good ol' fashioned cross country riding. While some of the trails are heavy on roots, the great thing about North Hill Marsh are the rolling hills. The climbs are steep enough to create effort, but not incredibly difficult overall.
